I agree. I have tried pointing out simple errors to journalists to no avail. The problem is that too many people take the “keep it short, keep it simple” mantra to an extreme, and end up misleading everyone. But, I guess this is why the lay people are stupid and deserve to be mislead. People who understand a subject read publications with footnotes, and don’t act like girls and say that they are too “confusing.”

I find it strange that a man is saying that footnotes are unnecessary. It seems like a girlish thing to do to say that things are too complicated.
